Total dissolved solids: Minerals and salts in Devils Lake waters exceed allowable limits of the International Joint Commission. Devils Lake water is higher than would be acceptable for transfer into international waters. This path includes: proposed outlet to Sheyenne River, North Dakota to Red River which flows into Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba and the Hudson Bay watershed in Canada.
